Clinical Screener Study-Online

About the Study

The purpose of this study is to assess participants with eating disorders for symptoms of eating disorders, anxiety, and related symptoms. Participants will be asked to do an initial interview over the phone and then complete a series of questionnaires online.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I qualify for this study?
Anyone who has or has had an eating disorder. The study is completely online and by phone - you can participate from anywhere in the world.

How will this benefit others?
Other people with eating disorders or eating related anxiety may benefit from the results of this study. Help us cure eating disorders!

What is time commitment for this study?
For this study, you will be required to complete an initial phone screening, which will last about 10-20 minutes. If you qualify for this study, you will be asked to complete some online questionnaires, which should take about 30-40 minutes. You will be asked to complete these questionnaires four times – once at the beginning of the study, and then follow-ups one month, six months, and twelve months after the initial questionnaires.

What is the purpose of the phone screening?
During the phone screening you will be asked about eating and weight-related concerns and symptoms. We will also ask you about several additional psychological symptoms and behaviors. The phone screening will last approximately 10 to 20 minutes, and at the end of the screening we will let you know if you meet criteria to participate in the online questionnaire portion of the study.

If criteria to participate in the study are met, what are the next steps?
If you meet criteria, you will then be given a link to complete several online questionnaires. These questionnaires will take approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

Is this a paid study?
You will receive an entry into a drawing for a $150 gift card for each survey you complete for a maximum of $600 in gift cards. There will be one drawing for each of the four surveys, and each drawing will be conducted at the conclusion of the study.

Are there any risks associated with participating?
You may feel anxious as a result of answering the questionnaires. A study coordinator will always be present during these sessions to help you with any distress you may be experiencing.
