Predicting Recovery Study (Online Available)
The purpose of this study is to use mobile-app and sensor data in order to predict behaviors, relapse, and recovery for individuals with eating disorders. Participants will first complete a phone screening (approximately 60-90 minutes) to determine study eligibility. If they are deemed eligible, they will complete baseline questionnaires (approximately 45-60 minutes). Participants will then complete surveys on your smartphone four times a day (approximately 15-20 minutes each) for thirty days while wearing a sensor wristband which will be mailed to them. Upon completing the mobile application, participants will be asked to complete an end-of-application assessment (approximately 60 minutes). Participants will then be asked to complete follow up assessments 1 month and 6 month after completing the main portion of the study. Participants can be paid up to $150 for participating in this study.

Barriers to Treatment Access (BTA) Study (Online Available)
Project HEAL and the EAT Lab have partnered to quantify barriers to eating disorder treatment access through the implementation of an online survey study. Have you experienced a barrier to accessing quality eating disorder treatment and recovery? We invite you to consider participating in the BTA Study through the online survey.

Personalized Treatment Study (Online Available)
Do you have a current eating disorder and are interested in getting treatment that fits your unique needs? The purpose of this study is to create an individualized treatment program for individuals with a current eating disorder. Participants will be asked to complete an assessment, education about the study, mobile app-based surveys, and work with a therapist to address their core eating disorder symptoms and will receive up to 10 free sessions of personalized therapy (valued at $2500). This study takes place either in-person or online.

Clinical Screener Study (Online)
You can participate in this study from anywhere in the world – it is all online. The purpose of this study is to assess participants with eating disorders for symptoms of eating disorders, anxiety, and related symptoms. Participants will be asked to do an initial interview over the phone and then complete a series of questionnaires online. Participants will be paid for completing follow-up questionnaires, and will be entered into a drawing for a $150 gift card for completing the initial questionnaires.

Mindful Self-Compassion Study (Online Available)
The purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility and outcomes of an 8 week mindful self-compassion group workshop among individuals with eating disorders. Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires and to attend 8 free mindful self-compassion group sessions. Group sizes will range between 5-10 participants. This is a paid study, with an opportunity to receive a $10 gift card in addition to the free mindful self-compassion sessions.

Web-Based Mindfulness Study
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate an initial version of an investigational web-based mindfulness training for individuals with anorexia nervosa. Eligible participants will be asked to complete: (1) an initial baseline assessment including one web-lesson that will take approximately 40 minutes to complete; (2) daily mini-sessions (10-15 minutes) of audio-guided mindfulness meditation for two weeks; (3) daily brief assessments (5 times per day) for two weeks; (4) two brief Zoom calls with research study staff; and (5) and end of study online assessment. This study takes place entirely online.

Reconnecting to Internal Sensations and Experiences (RISE) Study
In collaboration with the Research on Eating Disorder and Suicidality (REDS) Lab, the Reconnecting to Internal Sensations and Experiences (RISE) study is a four part, tech-based intervention targeting interoception, or our ability to recognize and respond to internal bodily states and emotions. More information coming soon!
Virtual Reality Study
The purpose of this study is to investigate if virtual reality technology can be utilized to improve weight related fears and anxiety in individuals with eating disorders. Participants will be asked to do a screening interview, and two virtual reality therapy sessions while wearing a virtual reality headset and health-sensor band. During the virtual reality therapy, participants will be asked to wear a virtual reality headset and go through a guided mirror exposure in a virtual reality environment. Participants will receive free VR therapy sessions as part of this study, which is valued up to $500.

Conquering Fear Foods Study
The purpose of this study is to investigate the course of anxiety over two sessions of food exposure therapy. Participants will be asked to do a screening interview, two food therapy sessions, and to answer questions sent to their phone four times a day for two weeks. During the food therapy, participants will be asked to bring in and eat a feared food without using any safety behaviors. Participants will also wear a health sensor band during the therapy sessions. Participants can be paid up to $60 for participating in this study.
