RECRUITMENT COMPLETE
Project HEAL and the EAT Lab have partnered to quantify barriers to eating disorder treatment access through the implementation of an online survey study. Help us understand barriers to accessing quality eating disorder treatment!
The survey takes only 10 minutes to complete! Participate here on Project HEAL's website.
The Barriers to Treatment Access (BTA) Study has several aims:
1. To quantify the systemic barriers that individuals in the United States face when seeking eating disorder treatment
2. To quantify the healthcare-related and financial barriers that individuals in the United States face when seeking eating disorder treatment
3. To identify patterns and trends among the systemic, healthcare, and financial barriers that people in the United States face when seeking eating disorder treatment, and to determine which barriers are more or less commonly experienced by people of different geographies, ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, body sizes, insurance plans, diagnostic profiles, and treatment histories
4. To obtain data to support future efforts to reform the eating disorder treatment landscape, and to influence future policy and legal changes within all levels of the healthcare system to ensure equitable healthcare access for people with eating disorders in the United States
Have you experienced a barrier to accessing quality eating disorder treatment and recovery? We invite you to consider participating in the BTA Study through the online survey.
If you are currently experiencing barriers to accessing eating disorder treatment, you can also apply for one of Project HEAL's treatment access grants.
