Louisville Pregnancy Study (LPS)

About the Study
The aim of the Louisville Pregnancy Study is to examine risk and protective factors for postpartum eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. This study involves filling out questionnaires three times during and after pregnancy. Participants can complete the first round of questionnaires anytime during pregnancy. Participants will receive the second round of questionnaires 56 days (8 weeks) after their due date and the last round one year after their due date. Participants will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card after each round of questionnaires, and one final drawing for completing all parts of the study.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I qualify for this study?
To qualify for the study, participants must be 18+ years of age and currently pregnant. Participants can join the study at any stage of pregnancy. You do not need to have an eating disorder or eating/body image concerns to participate.

​Where does the study take place?
The study is conducted completely remotely (online), so you can participate from anywhere in the world!

What will the study involve?
This study involves filling out online questionnaires three times during and after pregnancy. Each questionnaire takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.

What are the benefits of participation?
This study may not benefit you directly. The results of this study will increase the understanding of eating disorders, body dissatisfaction, postpartum anxiety, and postpartum depression in women, and may contribute to the development of prevention and treatment interventions.

Are there any risks associated with participating?
There are no other foreseeable risks than possible discomfort in answering personal questions.

Will I be compensated for this study?
​Participants will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card for filling out each set of questionnaires, and one final drawing for completing all parts of the study.
