About the Study
The purpose of this study is to create an individualized treatment program for individuals with a current eating disorder. Participants will be asked to complete an assessment, education about the study, mobile app-based surveys, and questionnaires to determine whether they can continue to participate in the therapy portion of the study. Participants will work with a therapist to address their core eating disorder symptoms and will receive up to 10 free sessions of personalized therapy. This study takes place either in-person or online.

How do I know if I qualify for this study?
Anyone who has a current eating disorder or eating/weight-related symptoms can participate in this study. Participants can do this study online from anywhere in the world, or in-person if they are in the Louisville, KY area.
Where does the study take place?
This study takes place in Louisville, KY at the EAT Lab & Clinic in the University of Louisville in the Life Sciences Building in a specially designed, private, therapy room or online over telehealth software.
What will the study involve?
In the first few sessions, you will work with your therapist to complete initial questionnaires, a generalized intake and be educated about possible interventions, and what your specific intervention could look like. You will also be asked to answer mobile app-based surveys and online questionnaires that will assist in identifying your core maintaining symptoms. In the fourth session, the therapist will begin your specific intervention, based off of your results from the mobile app-based surveys. From your fourth session to your final session, your therapist will provide individualized evidence-based treatment for your based on your core symptoms.
Can I participate if I already have a therapist?
Yes! We encourage you to continuing working with your current therapist and treat this study as though it is additional therapy. Because this therapy is new, it will likely be different from what you are working on with your current therapist.
Who will be my therapist?
Your therapist will be a trained graduate student in a clinical psychology doctoral program, who will be supervised and trained by Dr. Levinson, an expert on eating disorder treatment.
What are the benefits of participation?
This therapy will target your unique eating disorder symptoms and meet your unique needs.
The possible benefits of this study include a potential decrease in eating disorder symptoms and anxiety over the course of the study. The benefits of this study include a potential decrease in anxiety and eating disorder symptoms, as well as free therapy sessions valued up to $2500.
Furthermore, other people with eating disorders may benefit from the results of this study. The information learned in this study may be helpful to others and assist in the development of empirically supported treatments for eating disorders.
Will I be compensated for this study?
You will be paid by gift card for your time, inconvenience, or expenses while you are in this study. You can be paid up to $30 dollars for participating in the study. You will be paid $10 dollars each for completing the one-month, six-month, and twelve-month follow-up online questionnaires, totaling to $30. Additionally, the interventions are valued at $2500 of free treatment.
